Santa Terisita

January 26

Wow this was a great email:)  Thanks mama for all the things you wrote, you are awesome.  So I am way sad right now because transfers are tomorrow and the best companion that i will probably ever have in the whole mission is leaving me!!! Elder T is getting transferred to Laoag so he is going from like really hard life out here and back to the city life in Laoag. I am going to miss this guy so flippen much. Elder T is the man and seriously we are so close, we have never even had a feeling of contention in our companionship and we have lived together for 6 weeks. Elder T is probably one of my best friends and for real I have been so happy as his companion and we work super hard, are exactly obedient but at the same time just laugh and have such a great time and we just work super well together. We both told President for the past like 4 emails to him that we wanted to stay companions but  I guess the Lord has a different idea. So i am staying here In this area of course and  I got called as a district leader here and that will be fun, I am excited to just work hard and do what the Lord wants to me to do. My new companion is a Filipino and his name is Elder V and I have heard pretty good things about him so I will be picking him up tomorrow and I am going to make him suffer by first thing walking to our farthest area and just getting to work. I figured it would be a great way to start things off:) I am excited for my new companion too and i know i will love him like crazy but i am gonna miss Elder T haha he is just the man.
So we went back to all the people in the new area and we had another big lesson and we also have a lot of new baptismal dates. It is about an hour and 30 minute walk from their area to the chapel but we said if they committed to church and they don't have rides then we will walk there in the morning before church and then walk as a huge group to church so we will see what happens. And when i say ride, don't think of a car haha what the have here is a motorbike with a big cart type thing attached to the back to fit a bunch of people in haha. THE PHILIPPINES IS SO COOL!!!!!! i am really in the coolest place on earth!
I am pumped to hear about what happens for the super bowl, the Seahawks better win! but I am way more pumped that coop dawg will be sending his papers in soon and he will be getting those back pretty soon. I really really hope he comes over here in the Philippines because they could use him over here hahah I hope he comes to this mission and then i will be his trainer and that would seriously be the coolest thing in the whole world haha:)

Life is so good isn't it? One thought that always comes to my mind when I am a little bit sad or down is that I have 100 million more reasons to be happy then I do reasons for being sad and then I just find one of the million reasons of happiness to my life and I just change my attitude and I pray and it works every time. I am a super happy missionary just to let you know mama. MA, I love the Lords work and I am going to be a strong member of this church forever and I am going to marry in the Temple and I am going to be worthy priesthood holder forever. The mission is the biggest learning moment that I have had in my life and I have learned ridiculous amounts of things and I am going to just keep learning more and more.
Thank you mama for you testimony and I know you are going to be a great missionary someday and I know you are a great missionary now as well. Mama, thank you for supporting Colbie in everything she is doing right now as well in her life, I know sometimes it is really hard for her and just try to understand how hard Satan is trying to get her to stay home. It is really stressful for a person right before they leave on their mission but just thank you family for your love and support for her because I know it means a lot to her and it makes me super happy too! Colbie is a really special girl and she has a good heart and her desires to serve the Lord are strong ! So thank you family for all that you do for me and the support you have for me as well. This week has been pretty good but elder T was sick two days this week so it was a lil difficult to get a bunch of work done but its all good:)
I love you all and I hope you have an amazing next week and I am going to send some pics to you right now:):):)

January 19

Hey mama:) do you know how much i love you? I hope you know that i love you a lot and miss you a lot as well! The mission is so weird haha I am literally living in the Philippines and you are over there in Ferndale Washington haha and we are just in two total different places. It is weird to think about the life I am living right now and comparing it to the life that i lived before i left. It is a whole 180 degree turn and just living not even close to the way i lived before haha. But, life is so good here and I just wish that you all could do a day with me here to just know what it is like because I have to say haha I am probably in the best place of the world right now. The Philippines is so dope and i truly love it so much here, for example, the main two pets for people here are dogs, and monkeys. I at least see one monkey a day haha I will take a picture with one soon so you can see too:) I want to send you pics right now but this computer is way slow to send pics so i dont really have time but I will try really hard to send them still and hopefully i can because i know it has been awhile with no pictures so i will try and send some:)

> I am happy to hear about the family and I just how good you are all doing, i really love and miss every single one of you! I have a cool story for you all that I cant wait to tell you!!!! So there is this area called bangaloa in our area here in Santa Terresita and Bangaloa is the farthest area for us to go to but there is a lot of people there and huge potential. Other Elders went out there before but they said they stopped because the church was to far from them, which isnt true but i mean it is pretty far but I know Heavenly Father has a way for all his children. Anyways Elder T and I decided to go out there and see what the Lord wanted us to get done out there and the first person we talked to accepted baptismal date after literally 4 minutes of talking with him and teaching him. The guy was really humble and he said he has been looking for a true religion and we just extended the Bdate and he took it and ya but that isnt the really cool part of the story...... So we walked into the main part of bangaloa but dont think of city when you think of this place haha think of the Jungle and just a bunch of little houses and we were at the part where there was a lot of little houses and by houses i mean tin roofs and tin walls or cement walls and tin roof and then we also were just surronded by rice fields. Anyways, all the kids just got out of school so they pretty much came home at the same time and they saw us and just the expressions on their face was like......" wow who is this fat filipeno and americano" because usually people think Elder T is a fat filipeno but he is just Samoan so i know you understand hahaha. Anyways we start talking with these kids in Tagalog and Hilikano "the other language" and there is about 12 kids from the age of 9 untill 18 and then once they invited us to sit down just outside on a porch type thing there was about 20 more kids that ran over to meet us and there was about 10 teenagers from the age of 15 to 18  and then just a bunch of little kids and we were getting to know all of them and just laughing and having a great time and then as soon as we noticed the whole little town was outside of their huts wondering what was going on and then a lot of them came over to get to know us and then there was about 10 adults in the group as well and even more kids came. We got to know them and laughed and then we shared our purpose to them and being missionaries and the spirit was so strong. We literally went from laughing and just getting to know each other to this silence of peace and quiet and we just shared our purpose as missionaries and they were all so excited to listen to us. We asked them if we could say a prayer to start so we did and then we just taught about Heavenly Father and his love for his children and tied it all into families and it was probably the coolest experience that I have ever had in the mission. We shared to about 40 people and they all said to come back and we also had 3 adults come up to us and ask if we could come and share to them. The spirit was so strong and everybody was so attentive and they loved listening and it was truly super super powerful and i really cant even express so amazing it was. I am so blessed to be here in the Philippines and i love the work here so much and i am super happy.:)

> Transfers are next week so we will know on saturday what will happen to us elders here in Sta. Terresita but I just am hoping that Elder T isnt leaving here because he is the man. I have had some great companions but Elder T is for sure my favorite that i have had haha we have a bunch in common so it is so easy to just click with him and get along. We have not had one feeling of contention in our companionship and that is a huge blessing and for real our teaching is super good because we just know eachother really well so we just teach with each other really well too. And of course we have the help from the Lord and he is the real reason why we feel confident in our teaching.

January 12

Guess what Family....... I received my package:):)!!!   I can't appreciate it enough with all the things you put in there and everything was just a good surprise, i think it was better then christmas morning haha. Anyways, there was so many things in there that i just felt like giving it away to my investigators and members so i handed out a lot of the snacks to investigators and members and they were way happy to have some chocolates from america ahaha but dont worry i kept some for myself as well and i still have stuff left as well. There was a bunch of things in the boxes and a lot of things that i needed so thank you so much truly for the package, it really means a lot that you did that.
>>
>> I want to share one experience just about how my testimony of family grew over this week:) So President B came to our apartment and dropped the package off as well and so later that night i opened up my package and i was so excited to see everythiing that you sent me. I was way glad you sent me the clothes and the snacks and the neck ties and just all the things i needed that i asked for but there was one thing i didnt ask for but you sent me just because you love me. The big envelope with the big picture of our family and then all the personal letters that you all wrote me changed my feelings and day. The happiness that i felt from receiving the snacks and clothes and soaps and stuff i needed would only last so long but then when i saw the pictures you sent me and read the letters that each of you personally wrote to me by hand is when i felt true happiness and true joy in my day and my heart and that kind of joy lasts forever. Thank you for sending me those pictures and those letters with all the amazing kind words that you wrote to me. I will always rmember the feelings that i felt just change from happiness that lasts 10 minutes to just true joy and true happiness because my family loves me. When i  was done reading the letters i said to my companion...... Elder T, i have the best family in the world and he just said...... yeah you do because they sent you all these snacks for me hahahah! he ate a lot of my stuff but its all good that is just how polynesians are haha. But for real, i love my family and i am grateful for all that you do for me and are doing for me everyday. I was looking at the picture and obviously i didn't see myself in it but goodness my family is so beautiful and coop looks so darn lonely haha he doesnt have his other unmarried brother to stand by him. Anyways i just was thinking as well when i was looking at the picture of just first, Chelsie and Bret and Nikelle are the best and Tanner and Kayley are just crazy about each other and Mac and J are pregnant and are about to have a baby and then there is Coop who is just fly as fly can get lookin like a stud and then there is my beautiful mama who i love so much who shows christlike love to her children everyday and then there is my idol or in other words my dad who is just the man i look up to and want to be like. SO after thinking about all that when i was looking at the picture i just am way excited for the day when i get stand in that picture again with my family and hopefully i am married to the beautiful blonde haired girl that is probablly the most humble girl on earth who is about to serve a mission for a year and a half and is just amazing. Anyways, i miss you all alot but dont worry i am not home sick, i am still working my butt off and trying my best for the Lord. The work here in this new area is way different and so much better, i love my area and i love my investgators.
>>
>>
>> Life is really really great and i am happy.Thank you for all the things you informed with in the email as well, i just dont have time to reply to all of that except that i laughed hard when you said tanner and kayley are getting a puppy because i rememebr when they said they were going to name there puppy pancake and i rememebr tanner saying he will call it panqueque hahah
>>
>> I love you all and thank you dad for the time you took to write me this wonderful email. I appreciate everything you all do for me everyday:)
